Changes in Manhattan Community Acupuncture due to Covid-19

1. All treatments will be private to minimize exposure.

2. Prices are $50 for a follow-up visit and $60 for a new patient visit. The 24-hour cancellation fee will be $45 for a follow-up visit and $55 for a new patient visit.

3. There are five medical-grade HEPA air purifiers located in the office -- one in each of the three treatment rooms, one in the waiting room and one by the reception desk. Each purifier covers 400 square feet and removes up to 99.97% of airborne particles.

4. Treatment rooms are sanitized between patients.

5. Treatment room doors are outfitted with hands-free foot-operated door openers to minimize surface contact.

6. Wherever possible windows will be open to encourage ventilation.

7. All magazines have been removed.

We are asking you to do the following in the office in order to ensure the safety of everyone:
1. As soon as you walk in the office please go to the restroom (to your left - located in the waiting room) to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer that will be provided. There will be a maximum of two people in the waiting room (there used to be space for four). The chairs are spaced more than six feet apart. There will be a third chair located to the right of the door as soon as you walk in (between Treatment Rooms #2 and #3) in a small nook. If all three chairs are taken, please wait outside until somebody comes out. We are expecting this won't be an issue as treatments are by appointment only and we generally run on time.

2. In order to avoid having too many people in the waiting please try to be on time for your appointment. And while we’ve previously welcomed patients to hang out in the reception area after their treatment, we ask that you refrain from doing that. If you are feeling a bit light-headed after treatment please let us know and we'll try to find a safe space for you to rest.
Please remember to not come in on an empty stomach as that is the main reason why people may feel a bit woozy after treatment. Most people feel fantastic after acupuncture!

3. We know they're uncomfortable but you will be required to wear a mask or some sort of face covering that covers your nose AND mouth when you enter the office. Please remember that everyone feels differently about this virus. While you may be comfortable around people, many others still are not. It is essential that we all respect everyone’s space and feelings. We will provide you with a disposable mask if you don't have one. Please ring the doorbell before entering the office and somebody will come out and give you one. And we realize some of you may have been ill with Covid-19 and your illness confirmed with testing. Although it may seem frustrating, those of you who have had the virus will need to continue covering your face and maintain social distance. None of us can know who else has had the virus, so the only way we can all feel safe and support the safety of others is by us all following these guidelines, regardless of our personal circumstances.

4. Please check yourself for new symptoms (link to: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html) of Covid-19 prior to your appointment. If you suspect that you have Covid-19 please give us as much notice as possible and reschedule your appointment and get tested (link to https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/find-test-site-near-you).

5. Please come alone to your appointments unless you require assistance. Anybody who accompanies you must wear a mask. Your aide can drop you off and pick you up when the appointment is completed.

6. There will be a temperature check of everybody entering the office using an infrared thermometer.
